Playdough

Making playdough on a rainy day. What could be easier? I dunno. Maybe anything else that doesn't involve little fingers, clumsy toddlers, lots of flour, food coloring and a hot stove. Next time I will be doing less of the "get the kids involved" thing and more of the "get it done without them" thing. Finley had fun in the end so it was all worth it of course!

This recipe for playdough was given to me by a family friend who has spent years as a preschool teacher and day care owner. In other words, she knows what she's talking about.

Let's get started...

First, enlist the help of an eager toddler.

Mix the ingredients.

Heat on on the stove until a ball of dough forms.

Quickly tell the kids to stop touching the food coloring while you remove the dough from the pot, knead it for a bit and cool.

And play!
