- Ride for free if you bring an old monorail ticket dated anytime between 1962 to 2011 or a photo of yourself riding as a child
- At 10 a.m. they will be handing out 200 commemorative medals to paid passengers similar to the medals given to the inaugural passengers in 1962
- The Children's Museum will have a coloring table for kids on the Seattle Center Platform
- Musical performances by an Elvis impersonator
- Take a kid-friendly tours of the monorail facility at 12:20 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. and learn all about how the train works (adult tours will be at 12:00 p.m. and 12:40 p.m.)
Don't forget that they only take cash. (I made the mistake of promising the kids a ride last summer but I didn't bring cash. I was too cheap to agree to the $4.00 ATM fee so I had two very disappointed kids. Learn from my mistake!)
