Play: Toddler Play & Learn Group
The kids and I checked out the Toddler Play & Learn play group at Lynnwood Library last week. This play group is sponsored by both the library and The Little Red School House, a community-based service provider for Snohomish County families with children, ages birth to three, who have developmental disabilities, developmental delays, or are at risk of falling behind their peers.

Play: Molbak's
The kids and I met up with a friend and her daughter at Molbak's on Thursday. If you've been following my posts you've probably seen the free danish kringles and free Santa photos they have going on right now. They're really doing it up this Holiday season and I loved it. It was a very fun morning for the two moms and the kids.

Play: Great Play of Northshore
I'm not big on organized activities and classes. They usually come with an organized activity price tag. And a commitment to be somewhere at a certain time. (Why, oh, why, do the kids decide to sleep in on the one day I forget to set the alarm and we have somewhere to be? I guess it's the law of having children.) But I'm a convert...

Play: Masterpiece Monday and Wednesday at Bellevue Art & Frame
This morning we stopped by Bellevue Art & Frame and The Toy Place so Finley could try out her first art class. They hold Masterpiece Monday and Masterpiece Wednesday classes from 10 - 10:45 a.m. Each session is $2 to cover the cost of supplies.

Play: Ballard Locks
Last Thursday the kids and I got out of the house and made our way to Seattle. Finley is always so excited to go to the "City." She loves the drive on the freeway and all the big buildings. Even Grady gets into it and looks at the cars going by and says, "Vrrrooom. Vrrrrooom." So cute!

Play: Golden Gardens Park
After our lunch we headed back home. I decided to drive up Seaview Avenue to get a view of the Sound. After spotting the playground at Golden Gardens Park I couldn't say no to a quick stop there. I figured it would hopefully tire the kids out even more and ensure a nice, long nap on the way home. (That backfired on me big time!)

Flower World is not just a garden store. In fact, I know nothing about the garden store because we didn't even look at it! Instead, we spent an hour or two wandering around their grounds looking at the ponds, fountains, animals, stepping in a bit of animal poop and shopping for pumpkins. There was definitely enough there to keep the kids busy and entertained.

I had a Google Offers deal for the Seattle Aquarium burning a hole in my pocket so we met up with my dad and his wife for a day of fish observation and consumption.

This morning we met up with some friends for a walk along the North Creek Trail in Mill Creek. I love this little trail. It runs all the way from 164th Street to McCollum County Park. It's 2.5 miles long but we've never done the whole trail. I have one in a stroller and one on her feet (and sometimes none in the stroller and two on their feet) so we don't travel far or very fast. But I'm ok with that. We weren't there for the exercise. We were there for the walk.

Play: Amtrak Adventure
The kids and I had a fun little adventure riding the rails this week. We took the train to visit the grandparents a few hours away. It's not far to drive but we thought the train might be fun for them and it definitely was.

Play: My Garden Nursery
After spending 3 weeks fretting over what kind of damage our very active 18-month-old boy would do to a Christmas tree (I imagined him pulling a Buddy the Elf stunt and jumping on the tree from the couch), we decided to bite the bullet and just get one. So we headed to My Garden Nursery to pick out the perfect tree.

Just Okay: Santa Story Time at Redmond Town Center
I've been trying to find my Christmas spirit so I took my kids to Redmond Town Center this week for Story Time with Santa. I called beforehand to make sure it wasn't an outside activity since it's an outdoor mall (brrrr!). They told me it was inside Santa's house so it shouldn't be too cold.

Play: The Lights of Christmas at Warm Beach
On Sunday we headed out to The Lights of Christmas at Warm Beach with some friends. Let me just start by saying that the "Warm Beach" in the name really isn't that accurate. Boy, oh boy, it was not warm! But that's OK because it was lots of fun!
